One of our goals each season is to participate in as many community events as possible. We have a blast doing these events...both in getting to interact with people from all over and in getting to share the experience with each other. So far this season, we have hosted three EV3 Summer Skills camps, helped at an FTC Launch Event and connected with several teams within our state and overseas. We hosted our third annual Family Lego Night (FLN) at the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center tonight. We had a blast getting to work with so many cool kids. We were able to raise enough money at this event to pay for one night of lodging for each team member at the upcoming FIRST World Championship. FLN is always our biggest fundraiser each year. Today's meeting was a whirlwind! There was so much to do to continue getting ready for our big event this Friday. We are all very excited about Friday. After going over the logistics for setup and how we plan to run each event, team members broke up into smaller groups to work on making sure each challenge has exactly what it needs for Friday. It didn't take long during today's meeting before our Battle Bots turned into Soccer Bots. We can't wait to launch this game at next Friday's Family Lego Night. We've built one Bot that has a moving claw and another with a shooter. We've also built goals that you can launch balls into. Participants at Family Lego Night will have the choice to use our bots to either play soccer or battle bots. We have different attachments built depending on what someone decides to play.
